The U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) North Florida District Office is pleased to announce the SBA’s 2011 North Florida Small Business Week winners.
Each year for the past 45 years, the President has issued a proclamation declaring Small Business Week as a time for America to salute the achievements and contributions of the Nation’s 25 million small businesses. The National Small Business Week Celebration will be held May 16-20, 2011 in Washington DC. The SBA North Florida District Office is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding small business owners across North Florida.
The 2011 SBA North Florida District Small Business Person of the Year is Fernando C. Pereira of Orlando. He is the President of Pegasus Transportation. Mr. Pereira was nominated by the University of Central Florida’s Small Business Development Center.
The SBA North Florida District Office is proud to honor the following 2011Champion Small Business Week Winners:
Jessica Lynn Evans, Vice President of Regions Bank (Jacksonville) has been named the District and State Financial Services Champion of the year.
Arthur J. Lee, President of Lee Wesley Restaurants, Inc. (Jacksonville) has been named the 2011 Minority Business Champion of the Year.
David M. Capps, President of Caribbean Breeze (Yulee) has been named the 2011 Small Business Exporter of the Year.
Scott Shannon Hulihan, President of Hulihan Territory, Inc. (Jacksonville) has been named the 2011 Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year.
Kathryn R. Murphy, President/CEO of Comfort Keepers (Ponte Vedra Beach) has been named the 2011 Women in Business Champion of the Year.
David Moorefield, President, DAK Resources (Jacksonville) has been named the 2011 Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year.

The 2011 Small Business Week Award Winners from the Jacksonville area (and top North Florida SBA lenders) will be recognized at the 19th Annual Small Business Week & Lender Awards Celebration on May 25th, 2011 in Jacksonville at the University of North Florida’s University Center from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
