Nearly 1500 Customers Without Power in Tallahassee

Tallahassee, FL - Power has been restored as of 6:57 pm. Nearly 2300 customers were without power in west Tallahassee affecting areas on West Tennesse Street and North Woodward Avenue. It was originally reported that the power outage was in central Tallahassee.


Tallahassee, FL - Nearly 1500 people are without power in central Tallahassee.

Bill Behenna, Senior Public Information Officer for the City of Tallahassee, tells WCTV that there is one circuit down in Tallahassee, Customers in the Betton Hills-Lafayette area of town are the ones without juice.

Behenna says they do not know what has caused the circuit to fail, but street lights will also be affected meaning that drivers need to act like they are approaching a 4-way stop.

WCTV will continue to bring you updates as more information becomes available. No word yet on how long the power will be down.
