New Airport Director Wants to Lower Fares

Tallahassee, FL -- If you're tired of some high fares during holiday travel, maybe help is on the way.

Chris Curry was hired as the new airport director for Tallahassee's Regional Airport. Curry has his own experiences with high prices. He had the option of flying from Naples, FL to Tallahassee, or driving. The roundtrip flight would have been around $1200. Curry opted for the six hour drive, and says there's plenty of room for improvement on price point.

"One of the main ways to do that is to increase competition. Competition always lowers the prices and now that the recession is slowly coming to an end, there should be a lot of new carriers entering the market," said Curry.

He also believes that moving more businesses inside the TSA screening checkpoint could increase economic value in the airport. Curry officially starts January 22nd, 2014.
