North Florida Home Show on the Rebound

Tallahassee, FL -- Holly Dincman and her mom dropped by the 21st annual North Florida home show on it's opening day to do a little window shopping.

"We both love our houses and love home improvement, like to keep up with what the latest trends are so we thought we'd take advantage of the afternoon and come check it out," said Dincman.

That's welcome news to the vendors who haven't had an easy run over the past few years.

"When we hit a patch where the market kind of crashed, the building business was a very large casualty of that situation, but it's coming back very well," said Bob Snyder, the president of East Coast Shows, the promoting organization for the event.

Things are going so well that the show has more booths than they've ever had before.

Technology seems to be becoming a bigger part of the do-it-yourself home world, but there's still your traditional building materials too. The weekend is also the time to cash in on deals.

"We actually run a home show special, and it's the only time you can get the special, and we do 50% off our maintenance agreements," said Benson's Heating & Air General Manager Daniel Boyette.

All of the displays and deals were enough to entice Holly to want to come back for another round of shopping.

"I think I'm going to bring my husband back and see if I can't hit him up to do some renovations," she said with a laugh.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
