Associated Press Release

LAUDERHILL, Fla. (AP) -- Two police officers are facing charges after they allegedly coerced two women into performing sexual favors after a traffic stop.

According to an arrest report, Lauderhill officer Frank Hartley threatened to arrest the women for driving under the influence after they left an adult club on March 24, 2012.

Instead, he reportedly asked them to follow him to a dark area behind a business and called officer Thomas Merenda to meet them there.

Hartley allegedly ordered one of the women to have sex. She complied.

Merenda then reportedly conducted a "pat down" of the women and groped them. He also asked one of the women to punch him in the groin.

The men are on administrative leave. Their attorneys both said their clients were not guilty.
