Panel Recommends Removal of Central Florida Judge

Tallahassee, FL (AP) - A state panel has urged the Florida
Supreme Court to remove an Osceola County judge accused of numerous ethical lapses.

A hearing panel of the Judicial Qualifications Commission made
the recommendation Tuesday after finding Circuit Judge N. James
Turner guilty of violating judicial canons.

The findings range from campaign violations to making unwelcome
advances toward a female court employee who testified he repeatedly
hugged and kissed her.

Turner's lawyer did not immediately return a call from The
Associated Press but told the Orlando Sentinel they were
considering their options and may ask the justices for a lesser
penalty.

You say ethical lapses, I say criminal actions. You say unwelcome advances, I say sexual harassment. Let's call the whole thing off.
