PoJo Live Music Fest Announced for Sept 16-17
Headliner ALO, 2 stages & 14 Bands, All Free, on St. Joe Beach

Port St. Joe, FL August 15, 2011 – The Gulf County Tourist Development Council is excited to announce that last year’s free PoJo Live music event returns again with this year’s event scheduled for September 16-17 at Veterans Memorial Park overlooking beautiful St. Joe Beach, Florida. This year’s lineup has grown to 14 bands, two days of music and two stages on the bluff overlooking the beach, featuring headliner ALO, currently with Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records label. Also included are The Sheepdogs, sure to draw a crowd from their feature on the August cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.

The event is free and open to the public with live music ranging from Rock to Indie-Alternative, Reggae, Bluegrass, Folk, Pop, Funk and Country. The festival kicks off Friday at 4:30pm Eastern with Spiritual Rez, a Reggae Horn Funk band who has played with Jimmy Buffet. Up and coming rock band, The Sheepdogs, will also hit the stage Friday night. They are touring with Kings of Leon later this year.

Music picks back up on Saturday with Mishka, Michael Tolcher, Bob Schneider, Matt Costa and ALO. Mishka is an internationally known reggae artist who is currently signed with Matthew McConaughey’s record label, j.k. living. Matt Costa has recently completed performances at major North American music festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Sasquatch and Austin City Limits. ALO will wrap up festivities Saturday night with the show beginning at 8:30 pm. Additional acts include the return of last year’s popular Honey Island Swamp Band, from Louisiana. Michael Tolcher has toured with Dave Matthews and Blues Traveler, and may be best known for his 2009 “Speed Feels Better” video featuring athletes Andy Roddick, Barry Sanders and more. Tallahassee’s Sarah Mac Band, Thomas Wynn & The Believers, The Curry Brothers, Bo Spring Band, Greg Wood and Buddy Hamm round out the field.

Free shuttle service will run throughout the event, and food vendors will be on site both days. Veterans Memorial Park is a spacious waterfront venue with picnic facilities, restrooms and on-site/near-site parking. This location also offers great beach access for those that wish to enjoy the music with their toes in the sand or come by boat and anchor in the calm waters.

Lodging specials, driving directions and a complete band schedule is available at www.pojolive.com, or by calling the Gulf County Tourist Development Council at 850-229-7800. This event is being presented by the Gulf County Tourist Development Council.
