Tampa, FL (AP) - A newly released court document says a Tampa
mother covered the bodies of her teenage children with blankets
after shooting them in the head, then went to sleep on the back
A search warrant affidavit filed with the court Tuesday said
officers who went to the home for a welfare check Friday morning
found 50-year-old Julie Schenecker unconscious on the screened back
porch with dried blood on her white robe.
They found the body of her 16-year-old daughter, Calyx, in a bed
upstairs and the body of her 13-year-old son, Beau, in a van in the
garage. She told detectives she had shot both for being "mouthy"
and talking back.
Schenecker admitted she shot her son in the van, then killed her
daughter while she sat at a computer.
