Tallahassee, Florida- July 20, 2012
The Florida Democratic party released new tracking data. The data shows how many voters the parties registered last month and that Democrats outpaced Republicans for the 5th straight month.
Democrats out-registered the GOP in Florida by a factor of about 10-percent last month. Party figures show Florida Democrats have a registration advantage of about four percentage points over Republicans.
While those numbers seem to show favor to the Democratic party, recent poll numbers show that when it comes to our presidential candidates, Mitt Romney is winning the popularity vote in Florida.
In Florida one poll shows Republican contender Mitt Romney is leading the president 48 to 45 percent among sunshine state voters.
Florida is considered the biggest of the 'swing' states in the upcoming presidential election.
