Miami, FL (AP) - A new poll shows Republican Senate hopeful Marco
Rubio with a commanding lead over Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek and independent Gov. Charlie Crist.
The Mason-Dixon poll released Friday shows Rubio with 45 percent
of the vote, followed by Crist at 28 percent and Meek with 21
percent. Six percent of voters said they remained undecided.
The poll found a larger gap between Rubio and Crist than a
Quinnipiac poll released Thursday. That poll showed Rubio with 42
percent of the vote, compared to Crist with 35 percent and Meek
with 15 percent.
The projections come as Meek reassures voters he will continue
his campaign, denying reports former President Bill Clinton
pressured him to drop out and endorse Crist.
Clinton says he did not ask Meek to leave the race.
