Tallahassee, FL - Powerball tickets are popping up everywhere.
"Just got my Powerball and I'm hoping I'm a winner." Says, Tallahassee resident Cathy Ellsworth.
The Powerball jackpot is estimated at $360 million.
Ellsworth adds, "Got lots of plans. I want to buy a house in Montana. I want to build a shelter, I want to have a rescue; give money to my friends. I'm just excited. I have been thinking about it for a long time."
Wednesday's jackpot is considered the third largest Powerball jackpot and seventh largest jackpot of any kind in history.
Josette Johnson got about $30 in tickets Wednesday. But, they're not all for her...She's buying for 17 people.
Like many, she's in on an office pool.
Johnson says, "We all talked about retiring in sequence. So, that's the first thing we'll do is stop working. I would stop working, spend more time with my family and just try to enjoy life a little bit more. Breathe a little easier."
Of course, a whopping $229 million would help almost anyone breathe much easier. That's how much a winner would take home after taxes.
When asked how he would feel if he won, Tallahassee resident Dainel Salazar answered, "Happy. I wouldn't have to work again."
