Tallahassee, FL -- May 23, 2012 --

Students at one elementary school are celebrating reading.

Close to 650 students packed the field at W.T. Moore Elementary School in Tallahassee this morning.

They were celebrating meeting the principal's challenge of reading 30 books this school year.

Under the theme of travel, Principal Sue Kraul dressed like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and rode in a hot air balloon.

2nd grader Katelyn Reddick says, "It's a lot of fun and we get to read and we get to check out books, and we get to help people check out books. We wanted to read so we can just be readers."

2nd grader Jordan Lawson adds, "I always love to read. My favorite is adventure because I always go on adventures with my dad."

Both of those two second graders read 60 books each!

All of the students who read more than the required 30 books were given balloons, and they released them into the air during the celebration.
