Tallahassee, FL (AP) - Florida's incoming agriculture commissioner is bringing in a Washington hand to help him shape his message.
Commissioner-Elect Adam Putnam announced Wednesday the
appointment of Amanda Burdick Bevis as Director of Communications
at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Bevis, 29, is a 2004 graduate of Vanderbilt University. The
Houston native will earn $90,000 in her new role.
Bevis comes to Florida from the Booz Allen Hamilton public
consulting firm in Washington, D.C. Her previous experience
includes a stop in the White House Office of Communications in the
George W. Bush Administration. She was also a press assistant in
the 2004 Bush-Cheney re-election campaign.
Putnam will take office Tuesday.
