Tallahassee, FL -- March 5, 2012 --

The tents are up and workers are busy transforming Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park into what will become a hub of activity . More than just a riding competition, Red hills has something for the entire family.

"Here we have the vendors, the food vendors, the exhibitors, lots of people in our vendor tents selling all kinds of interesting things. We have a bounce house, a playground. Things for the kids to do," said Chuck Goodheart, of the Tallahassee Parks Management Services.

A suggested fifteen dollar donation per adult gets you in. Kids under twelve are free. That fee includes all of the exhibits and activities.

"We have bird exhibits, we have animal exhibits, we have horse exhibits. So there's a lot of places for organizations, clubs, to come and showcase to people what they do," said Goodheart.

One of the most popular activities is the botanical tour. People line up early to get on a wagon and tour the cross country course , learning about all of the plants that decorate the landscape.

Jean McCully is the chairwoman of the Red Hills Botanical Tours. The tours have been offered every year since the Trials began in 1998.

"The dogwoods, the magnolias, the azaleas and other fauna which will be in bloom, and enjoying the fresh air and the hayride," said McCully, referring to why people attend.

Of course there's also the competition itself. Spectators can see some of the world's best as they make their way through the three courses.

"In a short fifteen years this has become one of the most popular events in the entire world. We used to go to other places and see how people did things. Now they come to Tallahassee to see how Red Hills does it." said Goodheart.
