Update 6:00pm May 17--
The students at Adult and Community education, or ACE, had a special visitor Tuesday.
U.S. Representative Steve Southerland came by the school. He received a lesson in one of the classrooms and got to put his picture on the history time line.
He asked the class what they liked about the school and was glad to hear how much the students enjoy their individually tailored courses.
Representative Southerland said, "The positive atmosphere here is wonderful. The students are obviously feeding off that. They believe that they are important, and that they matter. And they believe that their educational pursuit is important to them, so it's just a wonderful program."
Southerland also spoke to a larger audience of ACE students and fielded questions about government and other important issues.
