Tallahassee, FL -- April 26, 2012 --

These are the sounds of a new internet radio station.. XMRB..playing classic to modern country and bluegrass.. a sound not often found on the regular radio dial anymore.

The man spinning the digital tunes might not have a familiar face.. but his voice should be.

Monte Bitner, who started his own internet radio station says, "I walked into a radio station and said I'd like to go on the air. The guy said, can you read. I said yeah. He said here, read the news, I sat down, read the news. He said, you're hired."

For more than 50 years Monte Bitner ruled the airwaves in Gadsden County, most recently on 93.3 WGWD..

But when that station was sold and changed format to talk two weeks ago, the response was overwhelming from listeners begging for the classic country sounds they loved.

Monte knew there was only one solution.

"The music is running, and it's running at XMRBradio.com. And it's just going to be a radio station. I mean we've gone to great lengths to make it a radio station."

Monte plans to have more than ten thousand cuts at his disposal, playing only top-20 hits from every year since the 50s.

Also in the works, plans to have live DJs, call-in opportunities for listeners, even local weather and news, no easy task for a radio station housed in a shed in his backyard.

And he's doing it for all the right reasons.

"If I don't make money, that's ok. I just want to keep the music alive and the people entertained."

I hate to sound like a pig and keep all the good classic music to owerselves so let the rest of the world enjoy it too The only thing I'm disapointed in is that I can't listen while i'm driving. My first preset on my truck radio was 93.3 and I hated it when I got out of range. Guess I'll have to get my George Jones disks out and fumbel around with them to hear good mucic whilr driving One more thing Gabby nor Trooper Jim sounds the same on my pc.

93.3 has been on my dial for years and years and years....... always provided the best of the country gold sound, which is hard to find anymore. We will follow you Monte, and good luck with the new spot.

When the radio station WGWD was sold Monte was a third part owner...it's not as if it was sold from under him and he was let go, he profited off of it and knew it was going talk radio...Good Lukc Monte - keep that Classic Country alive! Get Smokin Joe back on the radio!!
