WHITE SPRINGS –
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service will host the 59th Annual Florida Folk Festival on May 27 through 29, at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. Highly entertaining, The Roadside Revue will perform on Saturday evening, May 28.
The Roadside Revue is a Florida based acoustic group who have performed and traveled together for nearly 20 years. Regular main stage performances include The Will McLean Festival, The Gamble Rogers Festival, The Florida Folk Festival, The South Florida Folk Festival, as well as numerous events, concerts, and venues from Key West to Seattle, Washington.
Set material ranges from serious to silly, historic to hysterical, environmental to just plain mental. If you haven't laughed, cried, been amused or thoroughly entertained by the end of their set, it was probably the sound man's fault. Their fourth and latest release, "Passing Through," is a well produced 15 song collection showcasing some of the best of the band's original and carefully selected cover material. This CD also features award winning fiddle player Wayne Martin, as well as finger picker extraordinaire, Clyde Walker, both of whom regularly join the band on stage.
The regular band members include Ron Litschauer, guitar, mandolin, piano, lead vocals, chief cat herder; Bari Litschauer, banjo, mandolin, vocals, owner of South Florida's AMP Shop and Music Parlor; Dawn Dewitt , upright bass, guitar, vocals, award winning songwriter and teacher; Stan Geberer, guitar, vocals, one of the best and most sought after harmonica players in Florida.
Tickets are $25.00 per day or $50.00 for the weekend. Children under six years of age are admitted free of charge. Children between the ages of six and 16 for the entire weekend are $5.00 at the gate. For more information, visit www.floridastateparks.org/stephenfoster or www.FloridaFolkFestival.com
