Tallahassee, FL -- May 18, 2012 --
Some elementary school students started their Friday off learning about safety.
The FSU Police Department Bike Unit visited students at Oak Ridge Elementary School in Tallahassee.
Officers did a rodeo and talked to kids about helmets and bike laws.
Each student was able to take a bike helmet home with them.
Leon County School Board Member Maggie Lewis Butler says, "Once they learn it at school, it'll carry through into the community. So, safety is a very good thing. Since it's one of our priorities, they're right on time -- for the summer, too."
Dancing was also a part of the annual safety fair. The students were jamming to a song that tells kids to wear seat belts.
