Tallahassee, FL-December 22, 2012
Santa Claus traded in his sleigh for a fire truck Saturday evening.
Santa and members of the Lake Jackson Fire and Rescue made their way through some Lake Jackson neighborhoods spreading Christmas joy.
It was part of the fire department's annual 'Santa Run' where Santa passed out candy canes as he wished some children a 'Merry Christmas'.
"Just giving back to the community is what it really is. The kids are in these schools and these neighborhoods. It's just nice to give back a little bit and let them enjoy Christmas a little bit," says Santa Claus.
"It's a great experience. It puts everyone in the holiday season. It really sets the tone for Christmas and it's just great to see the smiles on the kids' faces and the families' as well," says Deputy Chief Scott McGuire.
The department has been doing the run for about 10 years.
