WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- An unlikely proposal to create a dress code for parents has been quashed by the school board in Palm Beach County.
One board member suggested a policy on proper attire for parents attending school functions after a similar discussion took place in Broward County.
But in 12 minutes of debate Wednesday, it was met by nothing but opposition.
Five school board members spoke out against such a measure, saying schools need to encourage parents' participation regardless of what they're wearing.
No vote was taken, but the proposal appeared unlikely to be revisited.
