Inaugural events for Florida Governor-elect Rick Scott and Lt. Governor-elect Jennifer Carroll kicked off early this morning, January 3. The first of a dozen events over the next two days started with the Salute to Women in Leadership Breakfast.

The Salute to Women in Leadership Breakfast started first thing this morning at 8:30AM and lasted until 10:00AM. It was held in the Grand Ballroom at the FSU Alumni Center and drew about 300 people. Community and political leaders showed up bright and early this morning to the event.

The Salute to Women in Leadership Breakfast honored the contributions of Florida women, including Lt. Governor-elect Jennifer Carroll--the state's first Black female lieutenant governor and Pam Bondi, who is the state's first woman elected to serve as Attorney General..

Acclaimed journalist Greta Van Susteren was the keynote speaker for the non-partisan breakfast.

There will be a prayer breakfast tomorrow starting at 8AM at FAMU's Al Lawson Center. The keynote speaker tomorrow morning will be Christian leader and award-winning author Charles "Chuck" Colson.
