Leon County, Florida - April 18, 2011 -
Leon County will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on the Southern Strategy Area at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, in Building 2 at the North Florida Fairgrounds. There will be a presentation by the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department regarding schools,
neighborhoods, housing, infrastructure, transportation, sewer, safety, the environment and economic development.
A component of this town hall meeting will be dedicated to a panel discussion addressing issues about the community. Invitations have been extended to representatives from the Southside Business Association, the Capital City Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Zone Development Agency, the Knight Creative Communities Initiative, the Leon County School Board, and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. Dinner will be provided.
The Southern Strategy Area covers about 17 ½ square miles, or nearly 11 percent of the area inside the Urban Service Area boundary, roughly from Cascade Park to Capital Circle and from Pensacola Street to north of Lake Munson.
