Special Olympics Tennis Challenge

No disability of any sort stopped the fun happening on the tennis courts at Forestmeadows in Tallahassee.

Nearly 300 Special Olympics students from around Leon County participated in the U.S. Tennis Association's Challenger Event Friday, April 15th.

Organizers say the event allows the students to enjoy the outdoors, using modified balls; and say they hope their love for tennis lasts a lifetime.

Laporsche Henry, a Special Olympic winner, said, "You got to run, play tennis, lift the balls up and everything. A lot of my friends play tennis. It's fun."

The athletes also got the chance to watch professional tennis players like James Blake.
