Tallahassee, FL - Florida House Representative Alan Williams defended his District 8 seat in Tuesday's primary election.
Williams defeated challenger Dianne Williams-Cox with more than 70% of the vote. During the race Williams-Cox openly questioned Williams on his residency. Williams-Cox said she was approached by voters in District 8 who wanted to know if Williams lived in the area he represents.
However, Williams-Cox only managed 2,788 votes out of 9,334.
"They sent me here 6 years ago. Hopefully I can work on their behalf for another 2 years...and that's my promise to each and every one of them," said Williams.
It's not over for Williams. The incumbent will face independent write-in candidate James Sinclair in November.
