Tallahassee, Florida--

Students at Sealey Elementary got in touch with their creative side Monday, writing stories and getting feedback from local authors.

The Young Authors Conference has been going on for years. The students at Sealey write their own stories, and local authors switch groups to give them feedback on their work.

The kids were excited to read their stories aloud, and the volunteers enjoyed helping them with ideas.

One local author was there to help. Jan Godown Annino wrote the book, "She Sang Promise."

Annino said of the students, "They are enthusiastic and they are very excellent presenters on their material. I got some tips today from them."

The students were allowed to write on anything they wished, and let their imaginations run wild.

The young authors conference lasted all morning and the kids were awarded with certificates of achievement for their works.
