SUMMERFIELD, Florida -- June 8, 2012
Sheriff's deputies in central Florida have shot and killed a suspect they say attacked them.
Marion County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jennifer Lowe tells the Orlando Sentinel that the suspect died at the scene Friday night in Summerfield.
Deputies were called to the home because a suspicious person was reportedly causing a disturbance. Lowe says that when Deputies Lauren Miley and Norman Brown arrived, they found the suspect "acting aggressive and not cooperating" in the roadway.
Lowe says a physical fight ensued and the suspect attacked the deputies. One deputy then shot the suspect.
Additional details were not immediately available.
