Gadsden County, FL - The Quincy Fire Department says the first blaze started at 8:35 pm Sunday night in the 1900 block of Atlanta Street in Quincy, and the other started at about 20 minutes later just a half mile down the road on Sanders Lane.
Fire investigators say the homes were abandoned so no one was injured in either fire, but they say they do have reason to believe arson was the cause in both cases.
WCTV talked to a neighbor on Atlanta Street who says she heard a loud boom, and then saw the flames through her window. She says the side of her home was damaged by the flames, and her trash cans were melted. As I was talking to her, firefighters returned to the scene because some of the trees by the neighbors' house were still smoldering.
WCTV plans to talk to the State Fire Marshall to get more information on the investigation. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
