On scene, firefighters advanced two house lines into the house and rapidly extinguished the fire. Crews from Station 9 searched the home to ensure that all occupants were safely out of
the structure. One person was home at the time of the fire and two other family members were away. The fire was accidental in nature and was the result of unattended cooking and caused heavy fire damage to the kitchen and dining room as well as smoke damage throughout the house.
Damage estimates were around $40,000 and there were no injuries
