Tallahassee, FL -- May 15th is recognized as national Peace Officers Memorial Day.
In Tallahassee, the police department held its annual ceremony to honor five officers who lost their lives while serving TPD.
The ceremony still touches the heart of Betty Green. Her son, Daniel Green, was killed in 2002 while responding to a robbery.
"Every ceremony that honors the police officers honors my son. My son was very precious to me, so it honors me for others to remember him, and I just thank God for him and his memory," said Green.
Flags were flown at half staff as a tribute to all men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while in uniform.
