Tallahassee, Florida - June 4, 2012 -
Applications for the 10th annual TPD Drug Education for Youth (DEFY) summer leadership camp are now being accepted. DEFY is a nationally recognized program with a curriculum designed by the Department of Justice. The program is for children ages 9 to 12. Applications for the DEFY Program will be accepted until July 13, 2012.
The leadership camp is a structured week covering multiple topics to include physical fitness, self-management skills, conflict resolution, drug resistance, health, hygiene, and peer pressure. There will be outdoor activities and field trips. The camp is held at Florida A&M University.
The program is free of charge to all qualified applicants. Applicants must be full-time residents of Tallahassee, between the ages of 9-12. Space is limited.
Interested citizens may submit an application on line via Talgov.com or pick up an application at the Police Department (234 East Seventh Avenue).
