We will all pay for the way we treat people. We worry more about the people overseas and turn our backs on our homeless citizens. Many of use are no more than 5 paychecks from being homeless. All those buildings around town that is empty and they can;t be used for the homeless during cold weather.

I doubt he really went to sleep in the drain pipe, seeing as the cardboard was right there. I'm still operating under the assumption somebody put him there... As for the shelters, people don't like them because they are supposedly extremely crowded and I even heard someone tell me they got sick after staying there once. Also, I found him... Interesting day.

if the shelters were full, he would have nowhere else to go. Poor guy; he probably thought he could tough it out by sleeping in the drain pipe. What a sad way to end a life.

The shelters do not charge. What they *do* do is require people to follow basic rules in order to use their services. Probably this means not abusing alcohol or drugs, which some folks unfortunately can't manage.
