_______________

Tallahassee, FL -- May 25, 2012 - 3pm -

At approximately 9:57PM on May 24th, Tallahassee Patrol Officers were called to 108 East Third Avenue in reference to a reported home invasion robbery. The initial investigation revealed a black male was killed during the incident.

Members of TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit and the Forensic Unit responded to assume the investigation. The investigators and technicians are continuing to review the facts and evidence at this time, but it appears a struggle ensued between the homeowners and the suspect who came to the home demanding money, which resulted in the death of the would be robber. The case appears to be self-defense in nature.

The investigation continues and TPD is consulting with the State Attorney’s Office. The names of the victims, as well as the suspect, are being withheld at this time.
