Police are still investigating Tuesday's armed robbery at a Tallahassee CVS.

The hold-up is one of many open robbery cases.

Because of recent robberies in Tallahassee, Carolyn Hartough says just walking to the car has become frightening.

Hartough said, "I am concerned that somebody's going to pop up from around a car--just like you did."

Eyewitness News was only armed with a camera and microphone.

But, police say a man with a gun approached a store clerk at CVS Pharmacy at Capital Circle Northeast and Miccosukee Road around 3:00 Tuesday morning.

Surveillance photos show the suspect wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans, and a red shirt, described 5'8" to 5'10".

Officers say the man threatened the clerk, took an undisclosed amount of money, then fired his gun before leaving.

No one was injured.

Hartough said, "It's rather scary, especially when they come in armed and actually use the firearm."

Authorities say in just the first half of this year, The Tallahassee Police Department has dealt with 211 robberies, catching their suspect only 32 times.

Tallahassee resident Kelly Mills said, "I'm not surprised because it seems like it's been growing lately."

All of last year, authorities say TPD had 474 robbery cases, with 84 arrests.

Tallahassee resident Thomas Leverty said, "Police are working on it.

But, there's just so many people in a wide spread area and they're so good at it."

Police say they solve 85 percent of all bank robberies.

Anyone with any information on Tuesday's CVS robbery is asked to call police at 891-4200.

The surveillance photos are attached to this story on the "picture" tab. These are all of the photos/angles that police have released.

UPDATED 10.19.2010 by Julie Montanaro

An early morning robbery ends with gunfire in Tallahassee.

It happened at the CVS on the corner of Capital Circle Northeast and Miccosukee Road.

It's not unusual to hear about a robbery at a convenience store or 24-hour drug store like this one. What is unusual is the robber fired at least one shot during the hold-up.

Tallahassee Police say at about 3 this morning, the lone man threatened a clerk with the gun, got his money, and, as employees tell us, he then turned around and fired at least one shot back into the store.

Thankfully, no clerks or customers were struck by that bullet.

There is a vague description of the robber. The clerk described him as a black man, 5'8 - 5'10, wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and a red shirt.

Employees tell us this robbery happened at the front counter.

When Eyewitness News walked inside, there were at least three surveillance cameras plainly visible in that area, with signs posted: "recording now."

Tallahassee Police spokesman David McCranie says officers are reviewing surveillance tapes to see if there are any good photos of the robber.
