UPDATED 9.18.2012 by Julie Montanaro

A Tallahassee jury is about to hear the story behind an SUV riddled with bullet holes.

Brandon Grice will stand trial this week for a shooting at the Oak Pointe Apartments in May 2011.

Grice and another man, Antwonne Nelson, are accused of trying to rob four men as they pulled up in front of building 15.

The driver told police the men opened fire on his SUV as he sped away. Police say there were shattered windows and at least 12 bullet holes in the SUV.

A passenger was shot in the knee, but survived.

Nelson has already entered a plea to attempted murder and attempted armed robbery. He was sentenced last week to 20 years in prison and five more on probation.

Testimony in Grice's case will begin Wednesday morning.

[UPDATE] Tallahassee, Florida 5-17 - 10:30am -

TMH confirms that extra security was brought in after the shooting victim came into the ER. Warren Jones, a spokesperson for TMH, says that extra security was brought in because in these situations, family and friends will sometimes get upset and tensions can run high. The extra security was a standard precaution. Jones further states that patents were free to come and go. No one was turned away, kicked out, and the ER was not locked down.

The shooting victim was not shot at TMH.

Have you not read the story? There were both white and black people involved in this. Stop making this a racial issue. It's about low class society, not black society. Nobody else is making it about race, so you shouldn't be either.

Is Oak Pointe Apartments government subsidized through section 8 vouchers? How are people who do not have enough money to pay rent able to afford such high car payments? Just asking?

Oh. I get it. People shooting each other over drugs is a bad thing. But people shooting people over "a family related thing" is a lot less bad. Are you serious? No wonder "nephew" was mentioned. "Nephiew" and "cousin" see any parallel there? See any commonality? See any ties to current social problems or news reports? And you wonder why the general public automatically thinks a certain way . . . sheeeesh.

nephew is not a term that is race related- I have a nephew on the way- My mom has several nephews i mean seriously its not a race comment and cousin isn't always that way either- but yes people use cousin (cuz) but the problem isn't the news report it is society and it is people in general

Comments that justify, conceal or excuse criminal, psychotic behavior sicken me. The "only God can judge" folks are just funny, especially the ones with a threatening tone. Denying a problem exists will not make it go away.
