Tallahassee, FL-January 1, 2013- Some Tallahassee residents hit the trails to start the New Year.
About a 100 people came out to Maclay Gardens State Park as part of First Day Hike.
The nation-wide event encourages people to visit the County's many state parks and walk the trials. It's the second year in a row the country's parks have held the event.
"What better way to start out the year than by doing something healthy for them and the families so we decided to do it on the first of the year. So this is a new tradition,' says the director of Florida's State Parks, Donald Forgione.
Forgione says 61 of Florida's state parks participated in First Hike Day.
