A man who was once caught on tape on the popular TV segment "To Catch a Predator" is now headed to prison.

Charles Green was sentenced to ten years in prison in a Tallahassee courtroom last week after pleading no contest to three counts of computer solicitation of a minor.

Green was arrested in an on line sting in June 2011.
Tallahassee police investigators say he was chatting with an undercover officer posing as a young girl and he was planning to travel to Tallahassee to have sex with her.

Green was on probation at the time for a similar crime in Flagler County, Florida. In that case, Green showed up in his red Cobra and was greeted by TV cameras and an arrest team.

A spokeswoman with the 7th circuit state attorney's office confirms that Charles Green was on probation for another crime against children when he was arrested this time.

Shannon Peters confirms that Green's arrest was featured on NBC's "To Catch a Predator" back in 2006.

Peters says Green was arrested in Flagler County in December 2006 and charged with attempted lewd and lascivious battery, computer pornography and child exploitation. Peters says he entered a plea to those charges and was sentenced to 10 years of sex offender probation.

Peters says prosecutors in Flagler County are now working to have his probation violated there. Green could be ordered to serve the remainder of his ten year sentence in prison, Peters said.

That would be in addition to any consequences of the new charges.

Tallahassee, Florida TPD PRESS RELEASE

In May 2011, The Tallahassee Police Department began an undercover investigation targeting Internet predators who solicit minors for sex. Using an online chat program, Charles Green contacted an undercover investigator posing as a minor. During the two month investigation, Green solicited the "minor" for sex on several occasions and planned to meet in Tallahassee.

On June 27, 2011, TPD partnered with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and executed a search warrant at Green's residence in Florahome, FL.

Green's computer and other electronic storage devices were seized as evidence. Green is currently on high risk sex offender probation. He was previously arrested in 2006 during an investigative operation for traveling to meet a minor for sex.

ARRESTED:
Charles Gregory Green, White Male, 12/13/1947

Very good point Annonymous, however if the police can put a young woman in danger who ends up murdered and no one is held accountable for it then I highly doubt they would be charged with anything in this case!

how old were the minors? 16? 14? 10? 8? I think it makes a difference...soliciting a 17 is a whole lot different that soliciting someone much younger. I'm NOT in any way sticking up for sex offenders...

If he was already on High-risk probation, whay didn't they get charges for him the first time he solicited a minor for sex. Were they trying to stack charges in order to get one to stick? If he had met another minor (for sex) in the meantime, would law enforcement somehow be partially responsible for not getting him off the street sooner.
