Tallahassee, Florida — For the sixth year in a row, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is the recipient of the National Research Corporation’s 2010/11 Consumer Choice Award. The Consumer Choice Award identifies hospitals that healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in over 300 markets throughout the United States.
“Receiving this recognition for a sixth consecutive year is a significant accomplishment and one that few organizations have been able to achieve," says Mark O’Bryant, President & CEO of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. “This award is representative of our continued commitment to provide compassionate, leading-edge, patient-centered health care to the community we serve."
Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple ratings collected in the NRC’s Healthcare Market Guide study. Of the hospitals named by consumers in the study, the winning facilities rank highest in their Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) as determined by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The study surveyed more than 250,000 households representing over 450,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
