Tallahassee, FL - The Tallahassee Police Department has launched a Facebook page which is designed to keep citizens informed on up-to-date crime alerts, safety tips and special events. Facebook is an effective way to connect with the public and open lines of communication.
The Tallahassee Police Department will be posting information related to current crime trends, wanted persons, crime prevention tips, and certain topics that the public should be informed about. Chief Jones stated, “Our goal is to improve communication with our community and with those involved in the social media network. This is another avenue to fight crime, keep criminals off of our streets, and keep the public informed. Combined with the utilization of Nixle, Cop-Logic/Online Report Writing, Propertyroom.com and now Facebook, 2010 has been a success in leveraging technology.”
