The Palmer Munroe Teen Center is going to be full of excitement for Teen Be Out Day on Monday, March 28. From 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., teens can hang out, socialize and take part in some fun activities, like making music and playing a little ball.

Monday is Leon County Schools' Teacher Planning Day. All students will be out of school, leaving many teens home alone. Hanging out with friends at the Teen Be Out Day will give teens a chance to mingle while having fun and learning.

Teens can take part in the three-on-three basketball tournament, a basketball clinic and a football clinic featuring Florida State University star players. There also will be a self-defense workshop for young ladies and a gentlemen's workshop for young men. At 5 p.m., teens will be able to register for spring classes offered at the Teen Center. Breakfast and lunch will be served. To top it all off, this event is completely free!

The Palmer Munroe Teen Center is committed to providing educational and recreational activities for teens in a safe and nurturing environment. Teen Be Out Day is designed to keep teens moving -- so they stay out of trouble and off the couch!

The Teen Center is open to kids ages 13 to 17. It is located at 1900 Jackson Bluff Road and accessible via StarMetro routes 23, 24 and Tomahawk. For more information, please call 891-2569.
