A 17-year-old has escaped from the Marion County Sheriff's Office Youth Detention Center, near Ocala, for the second time.
Authorities say the teen escaped from the facility that houses juveniles being charged as adults around 11 p.m. Tuesday. He was being held on charges of grand theft, auto theft and burglary.
The teen escaped from the same facility on March 10 and was captured in Putnam County a week later. During that escape, the teen and a 15-year-old scaled a barbed wire fence. A corrections officer was later disciplined for failing to properly monitor the inmates.
On Tuesday, the teen apparently escaped from the recreation area.
