Associated Press News Release
MEDLEY, Fla. (AP) -- Thieves took off about $500,000 worth of Red Bull energy drinks from a South Florida warehouse.
The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/17hDNlE ) reports the theft occurred sometime between Nov. 9 and 11 at a modern warehouse that opened just a few months ago in Medley, near Miami.
Medley police say employees found the door locks opened when they arrived for work on Nov. 11. Nearly 100 pallets of the popular drink were missing.
Detective Lourdes Muniz says the thieves apparently had a key to the warehouse and disconnected the alarm system. She says the thieves used four forklifts to move the pallets. There were no surveillance cameras inside the warehouse, so police are left with few clues.
