Franklin County, FL -June 24, 2012-

Tropical Storm Debby punished the Florida Panhandle Sunday 6-24-12.

The tropical storm brought heavy rains and damaging winds to the communities along the coast. Forcing evacuations from Saint George Island to Alligator Point.

"We had to formally evacuated and we're just stressed about that," says Patty Pino who was visiting Saint George Island.

Debby piled on the stress. It shut down major roadways like the Saint George Island Bridge and the John Gorrie Bridge. The storm brought long lines at the pumps as drivers tried to fuel up before heading out to safety.

"Every body from the island is over here trying to get fuel and from Apalach so the locals are just waiting in line to get ours. Maybe they'll be enough left," says local Tina Kilgore .

People in this coastal community are hoping more than just their homes are left once Debby passes through. Their hoping they still have their jobs.

"We won't be able to work, probably for awhile and there's a lot of people that depend on the bay for a living and a lot of people are going to be out of work," says Kilgore's husband.
