Commemorating the month of love, individuals can give from their heart by donating blood at the TRUE LOVE & TRUE BLOOD event sponsored by Proctor Subaru on Valentine's weekend.
"Proctor Subaru is pleased to host the True Love + True Blood event to benefit the Southeastern Community Blood Center," said F. Daryl Green, The Proctor Dealerships' director of marketing and public relations. "Our organization prides itself in community involvement and the opportunity to partner with the SCBC and help them continue to save lives, is something we are happy to be a part of."
Two SCBC bloodmobiles will be parked onsite at Proctor Subaru, 1707 Capital Circle, N.E., Saturday, February 12, 11am-4pm. Individuals are invited to kick off the Valentine weekend by giving blood -- a life saving gift to hospital patients.
Those who donate, will receive a "lovely" gift bag with a TRUE LOVE & TRUE BLOOD event t-shirt, together with other treats, donated by Proctor Subaru. Lucy & Leo Cupcakes are donating red velvet cupcakes to thank donors as well. It's a sweet deal!
All who give blood at the TRUE LOVE & TRUE BLOOD event will be entered to win a romantic stay at Hotel Duval or a dinner for two at Cypress restaurant.
"SCBC is pleased with the heart-felt, enthusiastic commitment from the staff at Proctor Subaru to make this blood drive a success," said Carol Daws, SCBC marketing director. "They have embraced the cause by contributing many of their resources to reach out to the community and invest in this life saving event."
With Proctor Subaru's team of talented staff, they have produced a creative TV spot to promote the TRUE LOVE & TRUE BLOOD event. Additionally dramatic black posters and t-shirts were designed and communications' sent to clients and blood donors. Subaru staff also recruited businesses to donate prizes to the cause.
First timers and those who gave blood more than 56 days ago are welcome. No appointment necessary. Blood donations can help save car accident victims, patients who require emergency and elective surgeries and those requiring a transfusion for cancer or sickle cell treatment.
Donating blood is a true life saving expression of love. Proctor Subaru and SCBC invite healthy individuals who are 17-years-old or older (16 with parent's permission) to stop by and give blood on their way to buy flowers and chocolates for their loved ones. Those planning to donate should bring their photo ID.
According to SCBC, less than 5 percent of the eligible population actually donates blood. For more information, contact SCBC at (850) 877-7181, (800) 722-2218 or visit its website at www.scbcinfo.org.
