White Springs, FL - Two people were killed and two others critically injured in a deadly car wreck in White Springs, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol says their Camero flew around a tight curve on Highway 41 just before midnight Christmas Eve and lost control. They crashed into a tree killing the two men in the front almost instantly.
"I loved him to death. It's going to be a rough week going between Christmas and New Years without him," said Conan Capps, who says he was a close friend of the driver, LT Ogburn.
We found friends and family of White Springs resident Tony Ogburn paying their respects at the scene Tuesday. Tony was better known as "TJ".
We interviewed Ogburn earlier this month for his efforts to curb the sale of Candy Flavored Tobacco in Hamilton County. At only 24 years old he was on the Advisory Board for Hamilton County Schools, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and an active church volunteer.
"We were celebrating Christmas but my heart was hurting for that family and it's going to be hurting for a while," said Marjorie Cooks, Hamilton County High School Assistant Principal.
His front seat passenger, 22 year old Stephen Michael Cordle of Lake City was also killed.
Both female passengers in the back were critically injured. They were 22 year old Virginia Kay Wagoner from Jasper, who was Cordle's wife.
And 14 year old Katlyn Paige Cribbs, also from Jasper.
Both girls who survived the crash were taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
FHP says neither of the men were wearing seat belts.
