Aside from the delicious-smelling food, Taylor County officials had a big reason to visit the Main Street Café Tuesday.

U.S. Senator Bill Nelson had stopped by to have lunch and meet with local public service officials.

"I was really excited," said Ginger Jacobs, waitress at Main Street Café.

"It gives everyone in the community an opportunity to come out."

Senator Nelson started his speech by commending Angel Ketring. She runs a student campaign against the use of tobacco.

"I thought it was great. He was totally for banning
candy-flavored tobacco," Ketring said.

But, Senator Nelson's main reason for coming was to discuss his opposition to voter suppression laws in Florida.

"Since the legislature is starting their new session today, I sure have hoped and asked them to reverse these voter suppression laws that they passed last year," Senator Nelson said.

During his visit, he also plans to visit Leon, Wakulla and Gadsden counties.

We got rid of Boyd and you're next. We sent you there to do a job and you have done nothing. You're fired.

Yes, we did rid ourselves of Boyd, but we still have some house cleaning to do. Nelson has to go, Michelle Vaslinda, the Nancy Pelosi of Tallahassee, needs to go.The mayor needs to go,John whats his name.Problem is Tallahassee is a place that voted to keep Boyd, and helped elect Obama.Tallahassee is akin to San Francisco, so many liberal democrats John whats his name and Michelle are embedded with the liberals and are difficult to dislodge.Florida is not a part of the south any more, more like Ohio or somewhere.Makes me kinda feel like Custer sometimes.

Bill Nelson has some very intelligent and well-informed critics, for example, in this thread. One calls Nelson a traitor and another calls Nelson a rat. Impressive.

I.E., Traitor: Someone who runs on the morality plank, then votes in favor of gay marriages, Jerry. Either way, this is his farewell tour.

Immoral seems like a pretty strong term to apply to consensual sex between adults, and the state has always had the right to marry outside your church and outside any church. Gays would seem to be entitled to the same equal protection of the law as straights. Young people entering the voter pool are less opposed to gay marriage than people leaving the voter pool through death. So, I know which way the wind is blowing and I know that resistance is futile.

U.S.Senator Bill Nelson, the good people of Florida are sick of you and your locked door deals you make with Harry Reid. You have NO Integrity or Credibility. Unemployment is over 11% and you could care less. Get on the wagon with Ben Nelson of Nebraska that got caught selling his votes. We have a good man ready to move in to the office that is willing to work for the people.

This is the classic case of somebody with no credibility faulting Bill Nelson for a lack of credibility. 11% unemployment? Ben Nelson got caught? Indicted? Convicted? Well, no, of course not.

Maybe you should stop reading comic books long enough so you can ask your 3rd Grade Teacher to teach you that only a small % of voters are Liberals like you have been trained at home to believe. Grow up Kid!!!!

Only a small % are liberals? I should aspire to have common opinions, as you do? Maybe a small percentage identifies as liberals but larger percentages are in favor of each individual liberal policy.
