Aside from the delicious-smelling food, Taylor County officials had a big reason to visit the Main Street Café Tuesday.
U.S. Senator Bill Nelson had stopped by to have lunch and meet with local public service officials.
"I was really excited," said Ginger Jacobs, waitress at Main Street Café.
"It gives everyone in the community an opportunity to come out."
Senator Nelson started his speech by commending Angel Ketring. She runs a student campaign against the use of tobacco.
"I thought it was great. He was totally for banning
candy-flavored tobacco," Ketring said.
But, Senator Nelson's main reason for coming was to discuss his opposition to voter suppression laws in Florida.
"Since the legislature is starting their new session today, I sure have hoped and asked them to reverse these voter suppression laws that they passed last year," Senator Nelson said.
During his visit, he also plans to visit Leon, Wakulla and Gadsden counties.
