Madison, FL -- November 8

A standing room only crowd gathered in the lobby of the Madison County Community Bank at 11:00 AM on November, 11, 2011 to honor all veterans of all wars.

In the group of 100 to 150 citizens, one could see those who served in World War II, Korea, VietNam, and the later conflicts around the world.

State Representative Leonard Bembry was the keynote speaker and he reminded those attending that the sacrifice made by those in uniform is matched by the sacrifice of the families at home. Bembry added that our new generation needs to learn unselfish service and help our country become a better place for future generations.

The Pledge of Allegiance, patriotic singing and recognition of the veterans present made the event special, as did the playing of "Taps" to end the meeting.

Its absolutely wonderful that a Small Community Bank remembers what Today is about. A day to remember ..if you can read, thank a Teacher. If you can read English ... Thank a Vet. Something lost in certain parts of the Country. Great Job Madison. Happy Vets Day.
