Applebee's is serving up free meals for veterans here and across the country today.
There was a long line of veterans and their families outside the Applebee's on Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee this afternoon.
Active members of the military and veterans who have
i-d can choose anything from sirloin steak to double crunch shrimp.
Vets say it's a great addition to a great day.
"Well it just shows that the country does appreciate the military," said Master Sergeant Ezell Barnes as he waited for a table. "If parents can go ahead and teach kids about patriotism and serving the country and everything then we can't do nothin' except say thank you back in return," the retired marine said.
Applebee's restaurants across the country served more than one million free meals on Veterans Day last year and expect to top that this year.
