FSU Student Who Was in Coma Dies

Tallahassee, FL -- April 13, 2912

An FSU student who had been in a medically induced coma has died.

According to a post on CaringBridge.com, Trent Taylor passed away last night 4-12-12. The post was made just before 10 p.m. It says ' Our Beloved Trent Has Passed On To Be With Our LORD'.

Taylor was being treated at the Orlando Regional Medical Center. He suffered a serious brain injury after getting into a fight 4-7-12 .

Hundreds of Taylor's family, and friends held a prayer vigil for him yesterday.

Plans for a service have not yet been announced.

Orlando Police say no charges have been filed in the case. It remains under investigation.

Family and friends of Trent Taylor gathered on FSU's campus Thursday night for a prayer vigil.

They lit candles, prayed and shared memories of Taylor during the vigil, which lasted for about an hour. Friends say the vigil was not to mourn for Taylor, but to celebrate his life.

Taylor was seriously injured from a fight while he was in Orlando. His head injuries were so severe, he was placed in a medically induced coma. He is being treated at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
