Tallahassee, FL - The City of Tallahassee’s Wade Wehunt Pool in Myers Park will be closed to the public Tuesday and Wednesday, October 5-6. A leak in the facility’s underground pipe system was discovered, requiring the pool to be closed for repair work. The pool will remain open as scheduled this evening, until 7 p.m.
While repair work at Wade Wehunt Pool continues Tuesday and Wednesday, patrons may use the Trousdell Aquatics Center on John Knox Road or the Jack McLean Aquatics Center on Paul Russell Road. Regular lap swim patrons can use Trousdell, open between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Limited lap lanes are also available at Jack McLean, open 2-7 p.m. Entrance fees are the same and swim passes will be honored at both locations.
Water aerobics classes scheduled for the Wade Wehunt Pool Tuesday and Wednesday have been cancelled. As an alternative, water aerobics patrons may participate in classes at the Trousdell Aquatics Center (7-8 a.m., noon-1 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.) or at the Jack McLean Aquatics Center (6:30-7:30 p.m.).
Weather permitting, repair work should be completed and the Wade Wehunt Pool at Myers Park reopened to public use on Thursday, October 7 at the regular time of 6:30 a.m. Any updates will be posted on Talgov.com and on the PRNA page on Facebook.
